Clerkenwell Exhibition Space

The Clerkenwell Green Association in London provides studio space for jewellers and other craftspeople and promotes their work through regular exhibitions. Cox Bulleid were commissioned to rework the existing entrance and circulation areas to provide clear routes through the space and to accommodate varied exhibitions and a seminar room.

Existing partitions were removed and new exhibition cases hung off the walls to maintain a free flow of space within the exhibition area.

Working with a graphic designer based in the building all signage was rationalised to create simple, clearly defined routes and concise explanations of each exhibition.

The two glass exhibition display cases, each 2.5 metres long, are cantilevered from an existing wall via stainless steel plates bolted through the masonry. The glass cases were carried through the building and simply hooked in place using their own weight for stability.
